Lab Testing Fees
Conventional Medical and Hormone Blood Tests
These are probably the most important tests and are almost always incomplete. I strive to have as many of these tests as possible performed by your medical doctor so that OHIP covers the costs. Complete testing is essential! I will provide you with a list of appropriate tests to request from your doctor. Any tests that he/she is unwilling to perform can be done through me. The cost varies depending on the test(s) ordered, but is only the actual lab cost of the test. Please ask for a copy of and bring with you any blood work or ultrasounds that have been done related to fertility, or even just routine physical exam blood work. You are entitled to copies of these from your family doctor or the fertility clinic.
Food Allergy/Intolerance Blood Tests
95 IgG Food Panel – $265
184 IgG Food Panel – $455
96 IgG & IgA Food Panel – $500
Adrenal Stress Profile
This test helps to assess adrenal gland health. Adrenals provide androgens that help support the ovaries, stimulate folliculogenesis, and supply building blocks to turn into estrogen. Blood tests for DHEAs, testosterone, a.m. and p.m. cortisol assess your adrenal gland health. $265
Pre and Post Challenge Urine Test for Heavy Metals
This test is used to determine stored heavy metals or your body’s total heavy metal burden. It requires two 24-hour urine collections. One test is taken without provocation (heavy metal chelator like DMPS or DMSA) and one is taken post-provocation with the chelator. If there is a significant difference between the two, there is a significant amount of heavy metal burden in the body. $265
Comprehensive Thyroid Testing
Normal thyroid function is important for fertility and also for a healthy baby. Complete thyroid testing includes TSH, free T3, free T4, anti-TPO, and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies. $120
Vitamin D3
Vitamin D is involved in the normal function of your ovaries or testes. Low levels of vitamin D have been associated with both PCOS and endometriosis. $85
Comprehensive Gluten Allergy/Celiac disease
IgG and IgA anti-gluten and anti-gliadin antibodies, tissue transglutaminase, and endomysial antibodies. $200
MTHFR Mutation Testing
MTHFR mutation can lead to poor methylation, sluggish liver detoxification, birth defects, and increased toxicity. MTHFR testing is currently only available through your MD. In addition to measuring specifically for the MTHFR mutation, more comprehensive testing for many genetic SNPs can be done through a lab like 23andme.com.
Advanced Infertility Blood Testing – these tests are currently only available through an MD
Anti-phospholipid Antibodies
Natural Killer (NK) Cell Activity Assay
Th1/Th2 Cytokine Ratio
